Technology for the home
Where a technological house really differs from other houses in that a
communications infrastructure is installed that allows the various systems and
devices in the home to communicate with each other. The modern home contains a
variety of systems, such as central heating, fire and security alarms, and
devices, such as televisions and lights, that usually exist in total isolation
from each other. In a technological house, these systems and devices are able to pass
information and commands between them so that, for example, you can play a DVD
that is installed in a PC in the office through the TV in the living room.
How it works
In developing the technological home, Stream Solutions have looked at existing clients
who work from home and have come up with a concept of integrating their TV, Hi
Fi, phone, fax, as well as PC, printer, video recorder, DVD player, cameras, etc. into one network.
Of course there are other smart home companies who can supply the same
concept, so you may ask “How do we differ from others?” Most smart home
companies when installing the cabling infrastructure have to use different cable
for each service e.g. Sky TV, computer, sound, infrared, where as Streams
Solutions network can carry all these services through one cable type. The other
big advantage here is the fact that the wall outlet or socket is universal,
which means that you can rearrange or move your multimedia device to any source
in the house at ease. This is a very cost effective solution.
